When I met the Bride, it was so easy to communicate together. After many visits to discuss their wedding, I truly felt like her personal friend. How amazing to plan a couples wedding and at the same time feel personally warmed with their life story. This wedding started with a private photo session which we will not share. On the Wedding day, The couple stayed at the Victoria Jungfrau along with their guests. Our favorite hotel in the Jungfrau region. We have worked with them 2 decades. Always professional top services and many banquet rooms to choose from for the size of the wedding. This is where their Gala Wedding Reception took place. The Schloss Oberhofen castle â history
The romantic castle complex with its keep from around 1200 AD reflects the history of its owners.
In 1844 the castle was bought and converted to a summer residence by the aristocratic Pourtalès family from Neuchatel and Prussia. Since 1954 the castle has housed a museum drawing on the history of its former residents.

The exhibition focusses on the 19th century., highlighting the aristocratic family that once owned the castle. It presents a dual perspective – constricting the lives of nobility with those of their household staff. On one hand, the interactive exhibition “AT YOUR SERVICE” focusses on the duties and daily realities of the castle’s servants, featuring the kitchen at the turn of the 20th century. On the other “ARISTOCRATIC LIFE AROUND 1900” offers a glimpse into the refined world of the Pourtalès-Harrach familiy. Following years of the careful restoration, newly curated rooms of the first floor – including the bathroom from 1904, the guest room, and the billiard room – are now open to the public.
The Oriental smoking room at the top of the keep offers a unique experience with its spectacular view onto the lake and mountains. Dating from the fifteenth century is the chapel with its impressive murals.
The Oberhofen Castle park is one of the most magnificent gardens in the Alpine region. With its striking tree formations, exotic wood plants, covered walkway and colorful flower parterres, this historic landscape garden is an ideal oasis to linger and unwind.
